A Whimsical July Wedding at TRU Gardens in Kamloops, BC
When Hailey and Jakob reached out to me to photograph their July wedding at TRU, we clicked instantly and I knew that it was going to be on of my favourite weddings of my 2023 season. Their day started slowly, with hair and makeup on site while Hailey and Jakob spent time with friends and family at separate locations. Before their ceremony started, H+J opted to do a really special first look — we headed to TRU and they spent some intentional time together just the two of them, and read their vows quietly to one another. They said that this was one of their favourite parts of their day — and it was one of mine too. Being able to spend uninterrupted time together is something they (and most of my couples) really value and make time for on their wedding day. It can be such a busy day, it’s important to actually take it together as a couple!
After their first look, we did their bridal party photos in the same location (this is another bonus of doing a first look on your wedding day; it allows you to do a lot of the photos before your ceremony even starts!) Once their bridal party photos were taken care of, we went straight to their ceremony at TRU gardens. This space is SO beautiful — the abundance of greenery and flowers surrounding the ceremony area make it perfect for a summer or fall wedding in Kamloops. H+J held their reception in the Mountain Room at TRU after wandering the campus for some couples portraits.
