A Modern and Industrial Fall Wedding at Laurel Packing House in Kelowna, BC

I was SO excited to hear about M+B getting married at The Laurel Packaging House in Kelowna. This was such a special wedding for me because M+B are good friends of mine. My husband was actually part of the wedding party, and so many of our friends came from Saskatchewan to celebrate with them. I got to spend the day photographing love between 2 good friends of mine, rocking out on the party bus, and dancing the night away on the d-floor. Talk about a dream come true!

M+B chose Laurel Packaging House in downtown Kelowna because of the industrial vibe of the venue — the ceremony and reception were both held in the main ball room area. The walls are brick with huge windows to let in all that natural light, and they chose such a unique layout for their ceremony, creating a semi-circle facing the alter. One of the things I loved the most about their wedding was M’s wedding dress — the material and style fit the vibe of their day SO WELL. After the ceremony, the party started on the bus while we drove between photo locations. We really wanted to go up Knox Mountain, but because of wildfire risk, it was sadly closed to the public. We quickly pivoted and made our way to Dilworth Park where we were greeted with amazing panoramic views (thankfully the smoke died down a little!) After the wedding party photos, the bus dropped off the wedding party back at the venue, and M+B and myself took a stroll downtown for some couples portraits. We stopped by BNA Brewing to take advantage of the big brick wall and got some amazing photos there before heading back to the venue for the reception.

Dinner provided by Creative Cuisine was delicious and after M+B shared their first dance, we went straight into party mode and the dance floor was packed within minutes. It’s always such an honour when my friends trust me with their wedding photography, and I couldn’t be more happy to have been such an integral part of their day!
