Janessa, Taylor, and their 2 daughters drove all the way from Prince Rupert to take a vacation in Kamloops to visit some family, and they wanted to do a family photoshoot while they were here! It always means so much when people take time out of their vacation to book photos with me. Janessa was very open in wanting a really candid, fun, and relaxed session with her family. As for location, she asked for mountain views and an open field with tall grass — and I knew just the spot!
Peterson Creek Park is one of my absolute favourite locations to do photos in Kamloops, BC. The terrain and landscape varies so much and you can get a wide range of vibes all in one place. We debated going to the Mara Canyon Trailhead instead (Janessa loved the photos I sent her while location scouting) but since their are pretty much no trees over there, we ultimately decided the lighting would be better at Peterson Creek. It’s so great when clients trust my judgment and expertise!
When I asked Janessa to describe their family in 3 words, she said: “affectionate, playful, devoted” and I think we nailed it. This might be one of my favourite family photo galleries to date!
