5 Reasons to Update your Personal Branding Photos
So you’re thinking about booking your next personal branding session — the question is:
“WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME?”
It’s never a bad idea to update your past, present, and future clients/customers on what’s going on with your business. While you might be asking yourself this question, I’m here to tell you that you really don’t need an excuse to update your brand photos. But in case you do, here’s a list of 5 times in your entrepreneurial journey you’ll want to book!
1 — when you are launching a new product or service
Okay, so you’re launching a new product or service — yay! This is always such an exciting time for any business owner. It’s time to add “book new branding photos” to your to-do list. You’re going to want new, custom images to show off your new launch via your website, social media, email campaigns, and all the other marketing in between.
The best time to book for this would be after you’ve done all the planning for the launch, but before you start advertising and adding it to your repertoire. This way you can collaborate with your photographer and find out the best way to show off your new product/service!
2 — when you are rebranding
This is a BIG ONE — what’s the point of a rebrand if you’re going to use old images?
For your rebranding photo session, you’ll want to choose an outfit and accessories that complement your new brand. Think color scheme, textures, and the overall look of your images. I always recommend sharing your vision boards & inspiration with your photographer so that I can help you brainstorm and guide you in choosing what to wear!
3 — when you are redesigning your website
This is for sure my favourite time to update your branding photos. I recommend getting in touch with a photographer early — this way you can ensure you’ll be getting your images back before the launch and so you can plan for your session. You’ll want to be sure to have cohesive images that represent you and work well on your new website; your photographer can help you with that. If you’re working with a copywriter for your website redesign, you’ll want to have already reached out to them as well!
4 — when you or your business moves to a new place
The last thing you want is to confuse new and existing customers and clients. Whether you’re moving to a new city or just a new space, it’s important to have images that reflect this change. You’ll be able to update your existing clients via social media and email campaigns, and having images in your new space will help you market to some new ones too.
5 — when you go through major life changes
Listen, it doesn’t have to be a big change in order to call for some new photos. Got a new hair style you want to show off? Heck yeah that counts! Whether it’s changes to your appearance, or an internal/personal transformation, getting new branding photos can be an amazing way to document this transformation and show off the new you. These are some of my favourite branding sessions because the sole purpose is to celebrate YOU!
